Help With Artist Statements

Do you feel you can’t apply for writing grants because you don’t quite understand what an artist statement is or how to write one?

First of all: don’t overthink it!

You write for a certain reason, they want to know what that reason is — that’s it.

• A very down-to-earth video.
• A fantastic, downloadable PDF (6 pages) with exercises and clear language – from artspartner.org – a website that promotes Community Arts Partnerships.
• Another downloadable PDF – this one only 4 pages but with even MORE exercises and pretty graphic design. (from the School of the Arts Institute of Chicago)
