Becky Band Jain is an All-Access Pen Parentis member since 2026. She is a communications strategist and writer with two decades of experience at organizations like USAID and the UN. Her personal essays have been published in Struggle Magazine and Newtown Literary, and her piece in Kveller was featured in the Memoir Monday newsletter. A former AWP writer-to-writer mentee, she was the recipient of a bronze Travelers’ Tales Solas Award and a Fulbright/French Government English Teaching Assistant Award. She holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from the New School, an MSc in Gender, Development and Globalization from the London School of Economics, and a BA from Wesleyan University. She lives outside of Washington, D.C. with her family.
